Shakewell Fairfax Concert reviews
I think I saw QOTSA but I can't be certain
"I have to say I love Queens of the Stone Age first of all. The concert was at Key Arena in Seattle where I have been many times. My seats were pretty good, not great, but not terrible. I was in Row 4 of section 215. And I have been looking forward to seeing them for the longest time. The lighting and the light show for Shakewell was hands down the worst lighting I've ever seen at a concert. You couldn't even make out which band member was which. That's a stone cold fact. I go to more concerts than anyone else I've ever met in my life. In the past 12 months I've seen Weezer multiple times (well lit band btw), MUSE @ RedRocks (sick light show), Tom Petty @ Safeco (R.I.P.), Cake, Metallica@ Qwest Field, Mastodon @ Paramount, Satriani G3 @ Moore Theater, Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, 30 Seconds to Mars, Green Day (White River), and dozens more A list bands. So I know of what I speak. And ftr, that stage was pitch dark & flooded with fog (which made it even more difficult to see a damn thing). Save your money. Watch QOTSA for free on YouTube. I couldn't see anything on that stage- it was like peering into a grey abyss for 90 minutes. And they had these big gay Cyalume™ Light Stick looking things all over the stage which further blocked the audience's view- depending on where your seat was located- compounding the problem & making it even harder to see the band. But this was thee absolute worst. But this was thee absolute worst. And I have to say QOTSA's lighting guy needs to be fired yesterday."
